About me

I’m a stand up comic from State College, Pennsylvania who grew up in the small town of Bellevue, Ohio. I graduated from Marietta College and started out in advertising as a jingle writer. I was a youth pastor/worship leader and then planted and pastored three churches in Central PA. I’ve been married to my ultra talented wife Suzy for almost four decades. We have two lovely daughters, Rachael and Marie, and four Bernese Mountain Dogs. I wrote a book and recorded multiple albums, I’m a speaker, podcaster and songwriter, but beyond that I’m a total goofball and a devoted follower of Christ

This is my comedy journey.

my comedy journey

I have been on stages my whole life, first as a musician, then as a pastor and now as a stand up comic. In 2022 someone said, “You should do stand up comedy.” I aim to please, so a few months later I stepped into a comedy club for the first time and did three minutes at an open mic. After my “set” a professional comic made his way over to me and simply said, “If that was your first time doing stand up then you have a career in this if you want to work at it.” I did want that; a few months later I headlined my first show and I’ve never looked back, featuring and headlining shows on the east coast for the last couple of years. I have been described as having a uniquely awkward way of interacting with the world. I love to make people laugh with true stories about growing up in a large family of boys with an eccentric mother, and other tales of cringe. My latest tour is called “Hugging Strangers.” Just in case you were wondering, I only work clean.
